Concrete Patio Maintenance

Summer is the ideal season to enjoy from your concrete patio, but for your friends and family to be able to fully enjoy from a nice gathering on it, it has to be clean and in good shape, because otherwise it’s not going to be a very comfortable place to be at.

Although concrete patios do not require regular maintenance, there are a couple of things you can do to keep your patio well maintained and ready for all your Summer gatherings and events.

Here are a couple of tips that can help you maintain your concrete patio:

Spring clean your patio:

A good idea to maintain your patio is to do some spring cleaning just before Summer hits, and if it’s necessary, call your concrete contractor to repair or replace the concrete if it’s in really bad shape. That way, you can start cleaning when it’s fully dry, then clean away leaves, dirt or any other kind of debris accumulated over the winter months.

Use an outdoor rug:

Prolonged exposure to Sun can cause your concrete patio color to fade and over time it will make your concrete patio look badly worn.

Using an outdoor rug can help protect your concrete patio against sun and provide comfort. We also recommend purchasing outdoor carpeting especially designed to cover large portions of concrete and when summer has passed you can roll them up and store them to be used next season.

Add potted plants:

Adding potted plants will provide your concrete patio with a little extra shade to prevent them from direct exposure to the sun. Also, it will reduce heat in the area and enhance its looks making it comfortable and inviting.

At Agundez Concrete, we are convinced that a concrete patio is a great option to spend a relaxing time with friends and family on Summer, or to just enjoy the afternoon by yourself with a good book.
